Underdog is the way to go I think. Benn and Clement just played earlier today. They both won and are probably tired and wanna rest up for the next round!

I do not know the score/result at the time of posting this and dont wish to. Doubles is even worse to bet on than womens tennis. Its all about the chemistry and teamwork of the pairs in qustion. Benneteau/Clement have only ever played together twice ( Aussie Open 2004 )and are 1-1, whilst Almagro/Massu have never played together.

All four of these players will be playing round 2 singles tonight, so it will be questionable as to how hard any of them try. On hometown advantage alone the French duo might try a little harder, but thats questionable, and I wouldnt be taking -300 the favourites just because theyre Frenchman playing in France.

syd, good points. I'll throw my 2-cents here.

I do play doubles, almost exclusively at The Grand Slams, taking the favs usually on ML parlays. I will take a doubles play occasionally outside The Grand Slams if good info is available (from the various tennis/gambling forums) regarding a player (injury/motivation)

madcapper--i would rarely consider using the 'fatigue' factor in doubles action. Very often a player has to play singles and doubles on the same day. All they need is a 'reasonable' time to regoup and gets some carbs and they are a go. Not sure if you play tennis yourself, but doubles is a walk in the park. Not much energy is exerted. Most of the action is at the net. Having said that, there are circumstances that I believe warrant the 'fatigue' factor---if a player has had a grueling 5 set match (on thecourt for 4+hrs) in hot conditions-- ex., Melbourne Park, The Aussie Open in Jan. Other venues--Dubai, S AMerica, etc (not best of 5 matches, tho)

anyway, again just my 2-cents.
